Author Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that fit the aims and scope of Al-Nasr. Submissions are managed through Open Journal Systems (OJS).
Journal Sections
Al-Nasr publishes original Research Articles and Book Reviews in the fields of Islamic Studies, Qur’anic Studies, Ḥadīth Studies, Sīrah Studies, Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic law, theology, philosophy, Sufism, ethics, Muslim societies, Muslim history, Islamic civilization, religious studies, humanities, social sciences, and contemporary issues relevant to Pakistan and the wider Muslim world.
The journal does not accept other submission categories unless formally announced by the editorial office.
Research Articles
Research Articles must present original scholarly research, a clear research problem, methodology, analysis, references, and academic contribution. Submissions must follow the journal’s formatting, citation, ethics, and peer-review requirements.
Research Articles should be analytical rather than merely descriptive. Authors should explain the research problem, relevant scholarship, method or approach, sources used, main argument, findings, and contribution to knowledge.
Book Reviews
Book Reviews must critically examine recently published or academically significant books relevant to the journal’s scope. A Book Review should include full bibliographic details of the reviewed book, a summary of its main argument, critical evaluation, and relevance to the field.
A Book Review should not be promotional. It should provide a balanced academic assessment of the work under review and should discuss its scholarly contribution, strengths, limitations, and usefulness for researchers, teachers, students, or institutions.
Peer Review
Research Articles are processed through a double-blind peer-review system. In this process, the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential as far as possible.
Book Reviews are evaluated by the editorial team and may be sent for expert review where necessary.
Editorial decisions are based on academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, methodological quality, ethical compliance, reviewer reports, and editorial assessment.
Languages
Al-Nasr accepts manuscripts in English, Urdu, and Arabic.
For all non-English submissions, authors must provide:
- English title
- English abstract
- English keywords
- Roman-script author names
- Complete author affiliations in English
References in non-Roman scripts should be transliterated or accompanied by Roman-script bibliographic details where required for indexing, metadata, and international discoverability.
Publication Fee
Al-Nasr is an open-access journal. Readers and libraries are not charged for access to published content.
To support editorial management, website maintenance, manuscript production, copyediting, formatting, DOI/metadata preparation where applicable, archiving, and publication services, the journal charges a publication fee after acceptance:
Pakistani Authors: PKR 20,000
International Authors: USD 100
There is no submission fee unless separately announced.
The publication fee does not influence editorial decisions, peer review, reviewer recommendations, revision requirements, acceptance, rejection, or publication priority. Fee waivers or reductions may be considered on request where justified.

Submission Requirements
Submissions must be original, must not be under consideration elsewhere, and must follow the journal’s formatting, citation, ethics, and peer-review requirements.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all quotations, translations, references, page numbers, Qur’anic references, Ḥadīth references, legal citations, and historical claims are accurate and properly documented.
Submissions may be declined before peer review if they fall outside the journal’s scope, are incomplete, lack scholarly structure, contain serious ethical concerns, or do not provide a clear academic contribution.
