Abstract

Teachers play a vital role in shaping the character, values, and future of students, particularly female students who contribute significantly to the moral and social development of society. This article examines the role of teachers in character building through the lens of Islamic teachings. It explains that, in Islam, education is not limited to the transfer of knowledge but is a comprehensive process that nurtures faith, morality, responsibility, and positive behavior. Drawing on the Qur'an, the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and the Islamic educational tradition, the study highlights the teacher as a mentor, guide, and role model whose personal conduct has a lasting influence on students. It emphasizes that values such as honesty, compassion, justice, patience, respect, and accountability are most effectively developed when teachers demonstrate them in their daily interactions. The article also reflects on the respected position of teachers throughout Islamic history and their contribution to developing morally responsible individuals and healthy communities. It concludes that meaningful character development can only be achieved when academic learning is combined with ethical and spiritual guidance, making teachers central to the development of confident, responsible, and value-driven female students.
