Abstract

Poetic art in Urdu seems to be stunned in Balochistan as the multilingual environment of the province is completely overflowing with the poetic creation of the native languages. Amid such circumstances, Atta Shad proved to be the shining star in Urdu poetry as he introduced new trends in it. His mastery in the field of lexical choice is pretty enough to prove himself as a real morphologist. He lines are the reflection of nature, its beauty and Ata Shad’s close association with natural object which can best be observed in Balochistan. A point worth mentioning about Ata Shad’s poetic qualities is that his workṢ is a window through which one can peep into Balochistan. The present study presents a true picture of Atta Shad’s personality and his poetic works while at a time exploring the effects of poetic power on his personality. The study is likely to pave way for future researchers to explore Ata Shad as a person and a poet in the same shell.
